-exaggerating or otherwise using rhetorical flourishes that aren’t backed up by the facts of the situation may sound nice but they still hurt your credibility with anyone outside of your ingroup
-you should actually be trying to appeal to people outside of your ingroup
- Saying X is “inherently” Y is an *extremely* strong claim and not something you can throw around lightly. It requires a lot of evidence to back up if you want people to take you seriously
